Dear athletes: In the future, if the Hudson Bay company asks you to model the Canadian Olympic uniforms in advance of the games, give them an emphatic NO. There is a scary correlation this year between athletes who modelled the Olympic uniforms not actually making the Olympics.
In the upper left is Deidra Dionne, who was forced to retire due to injury before the Olympics. In the bottom right is Carter Rycroft, who failed to qualify for curling. As far as I can tell, Marc-Andre Monette (upper right) fell short of making the Canadian short-track team.
The good news is they’re all good at smizing, and probably got some free Olympic clothes out of it. Which aren’t bad, by the way. Especially the hoser toque atop Steve Yzerman’s head. Bob and Doug should be getting royalty cheques.
